Some of our resources allow pupils to interact with objects in a more sensory way.

They can be used to enhance learning or to promote wellbeing and support mood regulation in the classroom. Objects will allow you to play with light, role play, bring to life story telling and generally provide tactile experiences to learning for your more sensory pupils.

Explore our Resource Box collection which includes animal and bird specimens, history boxes containing real and replica objects for handling and much more.  Artefacts can enhance learning experiences and provide opportunities for your pupils to engage with some amazing objects.

One collection could be one of the following options, allowing you flexibility in the type of resources you borrow as part of your module choice;

1 artefact collection

2 standard or 3 small ‘bag books’ for PMLD

1 sensory story collection

3 topic toy bags or storysacks

Loan period is one term.

Depending which colour modules you choose, you can borrow:

Pink module 6 collections per year
Purple module 7 collections per year
Green module 24 collections per year
Orange module 50 collections per year

Leicestershire County Council insures all artefacts borrowed from Creative Learning Services.

I felt this was an incredible resource that allowed students and staff to be really creative. Whilst some were initially a bit hesitant about the use of stuffed animals and birds they soon became curious and were having a good look. Once up close they were fascinated and the lessons presented themselves in a really natural way. I’ve used them in English lessons to encourage reading, writing and communication, in assembly to promote the RSPB Big British Bird Watch , an eco-club, a reading club, an art club for a citizenship awareness and experience session and in collaboration with other educational providers. It’s been amazing!
