This practical course looks at supporting the development of communication and language in children by understanding how children learn to communicate and the role of the adult in this process. It helps settings to remove barriers to communication and make communication fun for all children. The course
takes a fascinating look at the neuroscience of communication and how modern restrictions are adversely impacting on children’s brains. The course is fun, thought provoking and gives learners a wealth of ideas and activities for supporting communication and language with their children. The course also looks at the difficulties faced by children with language delay or with English as an additional language.
This course meets the following:
EYFS areas of learning and development – Personal, social and emotional development, Communication and language.
Characteristics of Effective Learning – Playing and Exploring, Active Learning, Creating and Thinking Critically.
Play Types – Fantasy Play, Role Play, Creative Play, Dramatic Play, Communication Play.
The price of the course includes a two course lunch following the three hour session.
