Creative Writing Workshops

Aimed at enhancing the curriculum, these active sessions focus on generating ideas, plot and structure, characterisation, point-of-view, dialogue and descriptive writing, and aim to help young writers develop their confidence and hone their writing skills.

For those students who have already enjoyed the introductory sessions, we also offer a programme for progression, which can include advanced creative writing techniques, surgery sessions, the opportunity for young writers to receive professional feedback on their work, and an introduction to the publishing process. This programme would be suitable for a writing group and includes a number of workshops across the year with the same tutor, to be agreed with the school.

We can also offer a session for less confident writers to help prepare them for the creative writing component of GCSE English Language exams.

• 1 creative writing workshop is 2 hours.
  To be booked as a 2-hour block; can be divided into 2 x 1-hour workshops. Aimed at more able pupils; maximum of 12 pupils at a time.
  Sessions can also be booked by the hour through our pay as you go system. Please contact us for costs per hour.
